Are you ready to transfer the passion?

So what motivates you when you get up in the morning? Is it your family, job or God or none of the above? I find that day in and day out most of the people that I come in contact with seem to be lacking motivation. I am motivated, I strive to have passion in all that I do (even at the expense of being obnoxious or out of control at times?!?!?) but everyone is motivated in different ways and many people go through life and are rarely inspired or motivated.

Here are some definitions of motivation…

The wants, needs and beliefs that drive a character.

Unsatisfied needs motivate.

Tendency to expend effort to achieve a goal.

Desire to accomplish a goal or participate in an endeavor.

Feelings that drive someone toward a particular objective.

The force (goal) that enables that character to overcome conflicts and drives the character through the story

The underlying theme of all of these definitions is a need, goal or objective.

So I submit that if you are lacking in any of these areas, needs, goals or objectives that you will be lacking motivation.  I work in an environment where setting goals is a daily occurrence but shouldn’t we do that in every area of our life. Shouldn’t we have goals for our families and our jobs and most of all our relationship with God? I say yes and those goals should inspire us to improve and grow and make a difference in this life.   The one thing that really bothers me and I must say in my opinion is the one reason that so few people reach their goals, is that they never put a plan together and put action to their goals.

I really can’t stand when my socks fall down, (sorry if this sounds crazy just read the rest and it will make sense in the end) I am sure that some men can understand what I am talking about, you know when they fall down around your ankles and you are walking and it really aggravates you. Well if I desire that my socks are pulled up nothing will happen, think about it I stand and I say boy I really desire that my socks would be pulled up but guess what they never move! I must put action behind my desire and reach down and pull my socks up and then and only then will I have my desires and needs and goals met.   So what will you do going forward will you just desire that your goals and needs and objectives for life are met or will you really become motivated and develop an action plan, execute the plan and then look out world I’m ready to transfer the passion!!!
