Well it’s 2:52am and I am at work, no I don’t work the 3rd shift I had to stay at my store while a new display was being installed. I just walked out onto the sales floor and was told that they would have to replace the computer in the display and so my night continues.
I was fortunate to read a blog by Michael Hyatt tonight, Michael , in it he shared how God had been dealing with him about being thankful for the things in his life and he listed 50 things that he was thankful for and this motivated me to do the same.
- God’s grace and mercy
- My wife Rhonda 20 years and counting
- Rhonda’s love for me and our girls
- That Rhonda has prayed for me everyday for the last 20 years
- That Rhonda is doing what she loves to do teach
- My children, Hannah and Grace
- That Hannah is able to go to the college that she wanted and pursue her dream of one day being on Broadway
- My good health
- Family time spent enjoying each other
- Laughing with Rhonda, Hannah and Grace
- My friends
- My church
- My dad
- My mother and father in law
- Having all of my immediate family close and less than a mile away from me
- My job
- Living so close to work and really having no commute (less than 10 mins)
- That my children love God
- Hannah’s awesome talent to sing and act
- That I have been able to lose weight and I feel better
- Time spent walking with my wife, it’s supposed to be for exercise but I enjoy just being with Rhonda and being able to have an adult conversation
- When I can make my wife laugh (that is pure joy)
- Tickling my youngest daughter and how she says it’s tickle time daddy..tickle me daddy
- Seeing Hannah perform …again pure joy
- Going to eat lunch with Grace at school (I don’t cramp her style yet!)
- Men’s fraternity on Wednesday nights
- Living out in the country but also close enough to the city
- Having great support staff at my job
- My back porch in the morning and sitting there reading and relaxing
- My pets, cookie, puff and ma ma Kittie
- For having passion and purpose
- Vacations with my family
- That I did not have problems this year with allergies and pollen
- Going fishing
- Tomato sandwiches, real tomato sandwiches from home grown tomatoes
- Cell phones
- Living so close to UGA
- The Braves and baseball season
- Our soldiers wherever they are
- Star bucks and especially a Carmel mochiata
- Watching it rain in the summer time and enjoying the smell
- Being able to serve others and meet needs
- Having plenty to eat, never going with out
- Grilling out with my family
- Days off from work
- Ben and Jerry’s ice-cream
- Blogging
- When I know my girls are safe
- Living in the south, people are mostly nice
- Acts Random Kindness-ARK for short-go see Evan Almighty it will make more sense!
Well its almost 4am and I am still at work, no rest for the weary. But after this exercise I am much more thankful, I encourage you to write down 50 things you are thankful for and when you are done you will fill much better about your situation.
