Just keeping it real!?!?!

Well some of you might not be aware of this but I have a temper and tonight my precious wife helped me see a better way. Here’s the deal Grace has a go kart and she was riding it behind our house and it stalled out (stopped running). Well guess who had to walk back and try to get it running and bring it back to the house, Rhonda and I. Well on the way all I could do was get more upset and fuss but the good news is when we got to the go kart it cranked right up and we drove it back to the house with no trouble.

Well Rhonda says did you pray about the go kart before you got there and I said no, because I was to busy fussing and getting madder and madder. Well Rhonda prayed she said she asked God to help us and that the go kart would start up right away, which it did. This might sound stupid and very simple to some of you but I have to say that it really spoke to me, if only I would look to God more often I might not get frustrated. God so wants us to trust in him and if I would only do that he promises to bring peace that surpasses all understanding.

Not sure if anyone can relate to this but just thought I would share.

  1. hmmmmmmmm, seeing that you’re a former boss…i must say that this comes as a quite a surprise (tongue in cheek here) – you’re right and yes, we can all identify – we resort to the flesh first way too often…

  2. Thanks for sharing this, my friend. I completely understand about averting my eyes away from God when frustrating things happen to the point that we get angry and lose our cool. May God help us to focus our eyes completely on him even when it seems like nothing else can help us–even God Himself!

  3. I can SO relate here. I’m quick to get frustrated and fuss before I pray. Actually, many times the fussing involves some fussing at God when things aren’t getting better. Somewhere in the process I realize how ridiculous that is and stop to re-focus. I could save myself so much frustration if I would only remember to look to Him first. Thanks for sharing and keeping it real so the rest of us know we are not alone!
