Well let me tell you getting older has it draw backs, for one Rhonda and I are begining to have vision problems. The doctor refers to it as 40 eyes. Well the other night we were out and Rhonda looks up and she says the moon sure is pretty tonight, it was at that moment that I knew Rhonda could not see. You see what she thought was the moon was actually a shell gasoline station sign. Well this drew some laughs from the family and Rhonda went to the eye doctor and was told that she is near sighted and basically needs glasses to drive.
With all that said it got me to thinking about being being spiritually near sighted. Isn’t it interesting that as Christians we don’t see to far into the future. Our vision often depends on our circumstances, if things are going well we seem to have perfect vision and can see and speak and do what God would have us to do. But if our circumstances are less favorable we tend to become negative and less likely to belive, speak or do God’s will for our lives or the situation we find ourselves in.
I know that persecution is coming for me, John 16:33 says- These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. My goal is to be of GOOD CHEER as often as I can because my saviour has overcome the world.
I am praying that God will give me spiritual glasses so that I can begin to see thing the way God would see them and as well that I would react to things the way God would react. Often I have very near sighted vision and situations become frustrating and then I become mad, especially at work.
So I say God give me Jesus goggles and let me see things the way you would, with the bigger picture in mind, give me an eternal vision.
