I am realizing that to have an impact in a church it requires many levels of commitment, you must get plug in, you must get involved and you must be the church that you want your church to be. What I mean by the last comment is that instead of complaining about what the church isn’t, we should step up and fill that gap. If you want your church to worship more freely then you should make sure that you are leading and worshiping freely. I can remember when I was in my teens I attended a baptist church and I was really fired up for God and I wanted everyone to be as excited as I was, a friend once told me well you should raise your hands and worship God in church, (I know that sounds pretty basic but that would have been consider wild in the baptist church I attended) maybe it will free up others in the church. Well the bottom line is we should be able to worship God that way no matter where we are and there shouldn’t be anything wrong with it but often the environment induces the type of worship. So for me, I am going to be setting the pace, this is the year that God is going to do a new thing in me and my church and I refuse to miss out on what God has in store. I am not going to hold back, I am going to pray, shout, speak in tongues, speak prophetically, lay hands on the sick, dance before God, fall slain in the spirit and basically just BE THE CHURCH that I want to see, freed up and allowing God to use me.
Well I now feel better for sharing this, please pray for me!!!
Hi Todd, found your blog while searching through Christian blogs. Great post – I pray God blesses your efforts to praise Him whole-heartedly without worrying about what others think, and to pursue the vital workings of the Spirit such as prophesy, tongues, etc. When David’s wife despised his exuberant worship David said it was “before God,” not men. Awesome stuff. -Kevin Ott, http://otteriota.wordpress.com

You follow God’s lead Todd without shame or reservation. So many people are afraid to trust God that much so I really admire your faith and obedience. God will honor your obedience and I can’t wait to see what HE is going to do!
