I was reading a blog recently and the blog was written by a guy who is the Creative Pastor of Media at a church, basically he works with the media side of the church to think outside the box and come up with creative ways to minister. In today’s church being creative is almost an oxymoron, what I mean is that we have gotten to the point where change and new ideas are just not that common.

I am convinced that God is doing a new thing, now this is not new news, God is always doing a new thing but what is different is that I am convinced that he wants to do it in me and my church. Think about the word creative, a more modern definition of the word creative is the art of making something new. We know that God is the same yesterday, today and forever but he is meeting people and helping people take that next step toward Christ in new ways everyday.

I beleive that we must pray for God to stir up our creative ideas and then use them to reach the world for Christ. I am tired of church as usual, I want to see peoples lives changed, bondages broken and people freed up. We must begin to minister with purpose, we must focus in and purposely and creatively minister to reach people right where they are. Thats what God wants to do in each of us and our churches but we are God’s biggest hindrance, becasue we are slow or unwilling to permit change to occur.

One question for everyone, is the church that you attend now just like the church you attended when you were a child. Do they look the same, minister the same, sing the same songs, preach the exact same message, use the same media, video, sound. NO, to every question, things change people change and we must be praying for creative ways to reach this lost and dieing generation.

Can I get an amen, does anybody feel what I am saying!?!?!?
